- Description: A clean TradingView setup for day trading: the timeframe, time zone, session, candles, levels and layout I'd use as a beginner. No indicators needed.

**Short answer:** one market, a 5-minute chart, your local time zone, plain candles, the extended session visible, your key levels drawn as horizontal lines, and nothing else. Save it as a layout so every session starts the same.

## 1\. Symbol

Pick one market and stay with it. For futures, **MNQ1!** (micro Nasdaq). See [why NQ](https://www.daytraderincome.com/what-is-nq/).

## 2\. Timeframe

**5 minutes** for entries. If you want context, check the 30-minute or 1-hour chart before the session, then switch back.

## 3\. Time zone

Right-click the time axis and choose your time zone, so the 9:30 a.m. Eastern open lines up with your clock.

## 4\. Session

In chart settings, show the **extended session** so you can see the overnight high and low, two of the most useful levels.

## 5\. Candles

Plain candles to start. [Heikin Ashi](https://www.daytraderincome.com/what-is-heikin-ashi/) smooths the picture once you can read normal candles. Set up and down colors you can tell apart at a glance.

## 6\. Levels

Draw horizontal lines at yesterday's high and low and the overnight high and low. Add an [alert](https://www.daytraderincome.com/tradingview-alerts/) on the one you care about most. See [support and resistance](https://www.daytraderincome.com/support-and-resistance-explained/).

## 7\. Indicators

None, or one. The free plan allows two, and that's plenty. If you use one, [VWAP](https://www.daytraderincome.com/what-is-vwap/) is the most useful for intraday context.

## 8\. Save the layout

Click the layout name at the top right and save. Same chart, every session.
